Prototype for Advanced Public Transit
Systems in Multimodal Corridors

Welcome to our project home page

The objective of this project is to establish a test bed for the evaluation and testing of innovative uses of APTS data in multimodal corridors. In Portland, Oregon, techniques will be developed for fusion and analysis of data from various sources and sensors in order to maximize person-throughput, improve transit and traffic operations and ultimately enhance customer satisfaction in the corridor. In a second corridor in a companion project, in the New York metropolitan area, link/path travel time estimation and prediction algorithms will be developed for different user groups, toward establishing a dynamic traffic assignment/simulation model for the evaluation testing and planning of APTS/ITS technologies and systems. The overall project will serve to showcase the benefits of APTS in two multimodal corridors.
